Direct loans are loan programs with low interest rate aimed towards the development of the overall low income community in various spheres. Direct loans are not given to all. Subsidized direct loans are given to those who cannot normally avail loan from regular private banks due to lack of lines of credit.

Direct loans are forwarded through the federal agency. These loans are given for a variety of purposes ranging from education, farming, fisheries, sheep rearing, home loans, small industries in rural areas and many more.

The median area income is the deciding factor for the direct loans offered for farming. Direct loans for farming is given to purchase field equipments, setting up of store house, purchase cattle, seeds, fertilizers and many more. Direct loans for farmers are also given to purchase land for agriculture. Most of the farmers who approach direct loans are those who do not qualify for a loan from the private banks due to no lines of credit.

The direct loans can be used by farmers to bring in some lines of credit after which they can approach private banks for big loan amounts for their agricultural needs. In short direct loans can be a starting point to prove one’s financial reliability and to improve farming performance by acquiring money for the process.
